3L Fifth in Season Finale at Tri-City
The 3L team wrapped up the 2012 season on Saturday at Tri-City. Jeff won his heat race to put him in the third starting position in the feature. A steering problem would arise around lap six hindering Jeff's chances of winning on this night as he hung on to get fifth, his 19th top five of the season. -- Oct 20
3L Tenth at $5,000 Florence AMS Race
The 3L team extended their season another night on Saturday as they traveled south to Kentucky for a $5,000 AMS race at Florence. 92 Modifieds were on hand with Jeff qualifying third in his group. He won his heat race to earn a good starting spot in the feature. Jeff had a car capable of fighting for the feature win but chose too hard of a tire and it never fired which resulted in a tenth place finish but a solid run nonetheless against a strong field of cars. -- Oct 13
3L Goes Pink for Breast Cancer Awareness
The 3L debuted a new pink scheme at Eldora on Saturday in honor of breast cancer awareness month. Jeff was victorious in this race last year and the team was hoping to repeat. Unfortunately it wouldn't happen this year as he lost the air breather while running fifth in the semi thus ending his evening. -- Oct 6
3L Breaks Through at Fairbury with $3,000 Win!!
At a track where bad luck has been the norm, Saturday night at Fairbury Jeff and the 3L team finally broke through and rolled into victory lane, picking up the $3,000 triumph at the Prairie Dirt Classic! Starting sixth, Jeff used the top side to move up to third at the start. The top side would be Jeff's lane of choice on this night as he got to second and battled side by side with the leader lap after lap. He would take the lead for good and go on to collect the $3,000 payday!! -- Sep 15
Rare Top Five at Fairbury!
The 3L team traveled to Fairbury on Friday for the $1,750 Prairie Dirt Shootout. Jeff started the night off strong with a fifth place qualifying time out of 39 cars on hand. The 3L finished fourth in the heat race, locking him into the main event. Starting 13th in the feature, Jeff was on the move, advancing all the way up to fifth at the checkers, tying for the hard charger award. A solid top five finish at a track where the team has had a history of bad luck. -- Aug 31
Farmer City Track Champion for the 11th Time!
With the announcement that the season has concluded at Farmer City, it's now official, Jeff is the 2012 Farmer City Raceway Track Champion for the 11th time! He has been the track champion at Farmer City for 10 out of the last 11 years. -- Aug 9
Bizarre Crash under Yellow Ruins Strong Run at FALS
The 3L team took Jeffrey's car and went north to Fairbury on Saturday for a $1,200 to win special. It was a rough start to the night as the team discovered steering problems before qualifying and with no time to work on it Jeff had to try to get the best lap he could and the team would fix it after quals. He was 13th quick out of the twenty-seven cars on hand. Starting fifth in the heat race, he dropped back to sixth, just missing the transfer spot. He would win the semi feature and start 16th in the main event. Hoping to repeat the come from the back magic of last night, Jeff was on the move from the drop of the green flag, moving up to ninth in the first five laps. A caution would fly for debris and under yellow a car ahead slowed abruptly and Jeff had nowhere to go; tearing up the front end of the 20 machine, ending a strong run as bad luck again bites the Leka team at FALS. -- July 21
Last to Sixth at Farmer City; Fairbury Saturday in 20 Car
The 3L team went to Farmer City on Friday for a $1,000 to win special. Jeff qualified third of the twenty-four cars on hand. The 3L finished second in his heat putting him outside of row three in the feature. While racing in the top five in the feature, a car spun in front of Jeff and track officials made the call to put the 3L to the back of the field. Now running in 17th position, Jeff was on a mission to get back to the front. When the checkered flag flew the 3L was scored in sixth spot, a great rally from the back! It's on to Fairbury on Saturday for a $1,200 special. For the first time Jeff will pilot a Diamond Race Car as he will race Jeffrey's car hoping to reverse the bad luck at FALS. -- July 20
3L Wins $1,000 Kimler Memorial at Farmer City!
The 3L and 2L teams went to Farmer City on Friday for the $1,000 Kimler Memorial. Jeff was fourth quickest in qualifications while Justin was 17th. The 3L won his heat and the 2L was sixth in his heat race. Starting on the pole of the feature, Jeff picked up the $1,000 payday, his sixth feature win at FC this season. Justin started 17th and finished 11th. -- June 29
3L Victorious at Spoon River!
The 3L and 2L teams traveled to Spoon River on Saturday where Jeff was victorious for the second consecutive week! Starting third, the 3L stayed in the preferred bottom groove early. After a caution while running on the outside second row, he decided to try running the middle and it ended up being the race winning call. The 3L took the lead and never looked back, picking up his eighth win of the season. From the back, Justin was picking off cars one by one but while running around the tenth position was spun out. -- June 9
20 Scores Second Career Win at Lincoln!
Picking up top ten's in each of his previous six starts at Lincoln, Jeffrey broke through Friday night. Starting on the pole, the 20 used the low groove to lead every lap and pick up his second career win! Jeff was involved in an early wreck that tore up the front end but rallied on the high side to finish sixth. In heat race action, the 20 moved up from his fifth starting spot to win the heat; the 3L started fourth in the same heat and got second. -- June 8
3L Continues Hot Streak with Fourth Win in Last Five Races!
The 3L has put together an impressive string of races the past ten days. With wins at Lincoln and the $3,000 triumph at Farmer City last week, along with another victory at Farmer City on Friday night, Jeff had scored three wins in his last four races heading into Saturday night. Jeff and the 3L team traveled to Spoon River to try to keep the momentum going and he did just that! Thirty-two cars were on hand as the 3L clocked in second quick in his group. Jeff took the heat race win and started third in the feature. He took the lead on the fifth lap and held off the hard charging runner-up to pick up his seventh feature win of the season and fourth in last five races! -- June 2

3L Quiets Critics with $3,000 Statement Win at Farmer City!!!
Fueled by recent comments from his critics, Jeff used the extra motivation to his advantage on Sunday night at Farmer City as he picked up his biggest win of the season thus far! Starting ninth in the 50-lap feature, the 3L tried to work the bottom and middle grooves early but couldn't make advances to the front. After a lap ten caution while still running ninth, it was time to try something different and what a great decision it was. Jumping to the top of the race track, the 3L was on the move! On lap 28 he made the race winning pass, getting past the top three cars who were all battling for position, and from there he never looked back collecting the $3,000 payday! -- May 27

3L Rolls to Flag-To-Flag Victory at Farmer City!

The 3L and 2L teams traveled to Farmer City while the 20 team went to Lincoln on Friday. Jeff qualified third of the nineteen cars on hand. Justin had a solid qualifying time going but spun coming out of turn four resulting in no time being recorded. In the heat race, the 3L started second and used the top side to lead every lap and grab the heat win. The 2L started 10th in his heat, spun at the start, and worked his way back to seventh. In the feature, Jeff started on the pole and was able to jump to the top on the start and from there he led every lap to pick up his third feature win of the season. Justin started 13th, was spun early, and from the back he moved up to ninth. At Lincoln, Jeffrey started fifth in his heat race and moved up to third. The 20 started eighth in the feature and advanced to sixth at the checkers.

On Saturday, the 3L team made the two-hour trek to LaSalle. Jeff qualified 12th and with the invert started third in his heat and moved up a spot to finish second. The track locks in the top 11 so the 3L started 13th in the feature. Jeff advanced up to seventh at the finish. -- May 13

20 Fourth at Lincoln, 3L Runner-Up at Farmer City
Jeffrey followed up his heat race win by picking up his first top five of the season on Friday at Lincoln with a strong fourth place run. Jeff picked up his sixth top five on Sunday with a second place finish at Farmer City. Justin was 19th at Farmer City on Sunday. -- May 6
3L Sweeps Farmer City, Scores Second Win!
It was a great night Friday at Farmer City as Jeff swept the evening by setting fast time, winning his heat, and scoring his second win of the season in the feature. Starting on the pole, the 3L ran second early, a few car lengths behind the leader. When reaching lap traffic at half way, he made his move. When the leader dropped low to pass the slower cars, Jeff went high and made the winning pass as he took the lead and never looked back.

The 20 team traveled to Lincoln where Jeffrey finished fourth in his heat. Starting fourteenth in the feature, he moved up to seventh, grabbing his first top ten of the season. The night didn't start out well for Justin at Farmer City as he broke a ball joint in qualifying which resulted in missing the heat race. Starting ninth in the semi, he advanced to sixth to put himself in the feature. From the back of the field, the 2L moved up to nineteenth at the finish. -- Apr 27
First Win in New Chassis at Farmer City!
The 3L team looks to have dialed in the new Shaw by Landers chassis as Jeff and his team went to victory lane Friday night at Farmer City. Starting on the pole of the feature event after winning his heat, Jeff took the lead on lap two with a high side pass between turns one and two and held off the challenges by Nick Allen to pick up his first win of the season in his seventh start with the new car. The 3L was fifth quickest in qualifications of the thirty-eight cars on hand. The 2L was seventh in his heat and fifth in the semi. -- Apr 13
21st to 6th at Farmer City Illini 50!
On Friday the 3L team traveled to Farmer City, a track where Jeff has had great success in the past, winning the track championship ten times. The track was hosting their season opener, the $5,000 to win Illini 50. Being the track champion in 2011 awarded Jeff a provisional into the big race (if he needed it). The team learned a lot about the new chassis in Florida in February and was hoping to continue to dial it in and collect the top prize. There was no qualifying for this event as the track used the passing points format. Starting seventh in the heat race, Jeff gained a spot to sixth, using a cautious approach to not tear up his car knowing he was locked into the main event. In the semi, the 3L started ninth and was on the move, advancing to the transfer spot (third) but break problems would halt the pursuit of the lead. He would finish third and earn a spot in the main event. Jeff rolled off twenty-first in the 50-lap feature. On a track where passing proved to be difficult, Jeff used his years of experience at FC to charge towards the front, moving all the way up to sixth as the checkered flag flew. -- Mar 31
3L Heads to Florida to Start 2012 Season!
The 3L team left the cold and snowy weather behind on Tuesday and headed south to warm and sunny Florida where the team will kick off the new season on Wednesday night at Volusia. In addition to the start of a new season, Wednesday will also mark the debut of a new chassis as the 3L will be a Shaw by Landers car this season.
